Cage requirements

•CAGES MUST BE MADE OUT OF SOLID AND BE STURDY MATERIAL IT CAN NOT COLLAPSE

  • EACH ANIMAL MUST HAVE AMPLE ROOM TO STAND AND TURN AROUND
  • PROPER VENTILATION - VENTILATION HOLES MUST BE
    ON ALL SIDES OF CAGE & VENTILATION HOLES ON TUBS OR ANY ENCLOSURE MUST BE OVER 8% OF EACH SIDE
  • CAGES MUST BE MADE OF STURDY WIRE & SMALL ENOUGH ANIMAL CAN NOT STICK BODY PARTS
    OUTSIDE CAGE (1"X1")
  • NO SOFT VINYL, MESH OR NETTING
  • CLEAN DRY BEDDING IN CAGE
  • STURDY FOOD/WATER DISHES (NO SOLO CUPS)

CANS, SODA BOTTLE BOTTOMS, OR SMALL TUPPERWARE ARE ALLOWED & MUST BE ATTACHED

Pet shop Animals and bird cages must have access door and a handle of some type 

NO CARDBOARD WITH EXCEPTION OF SMALL BABY CHICKS.

WE WILL BE FORCED TO DENY ANY CAGES THAT DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS

Order of Sale & Info

All Animal related Merchandise must be checked in 9am

All Animals must be in check in line by 9am Saturday 

Start Times: April only Sheep and Hoats will sell Friday Night April 17t at 6pm

Saturday April 18th 9:30am (outside behind barn) All Animal related Supplies, Gates, Panels, incubators, Cages, Etc. •Check in line is past poultry line and around South end of building on west side.

10am Ring 1: Chicks, Eggs, Poultry, Rabbits, Peafowl, Waterfowl, Pheasant, Quail Etc.  (Sells in order checked into barn). 

•Check in line is south end of building. 

10:15am Ring 2 Warm Room: Petshop birds, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, guinea pigs etc, Reptiles, small exotics, tortoise, Pouch kangaroo, Wallaby, Monkeys, Lemurs, porcupine, Cavy, Capybara, Servals, Adult Kangaroo & Wallaby ETC. 

•Check in line is out front of building, Door is labeled Warm Room

After warm room: Ring 2

Pigs (only pigs under 60lbs and sells with crate excepted)

Bottle babys all species: Calves, Zebra, horse, donkey, llama Alpaca bottle babies, African Hoofstock bottle babies,, Goats, Sheep bottle babies. (All Bottle babies must have bottle and 3 days milk supply and any info packet)

Adult Cattle: all Registered cattle sell first in class, Riding Cattle sell after Registered cattle, Highland, Highpark, white park, Galloway, Hereford, Dexter, Zebu, Bison, Yak, Watusi, Longhorn, Indu, Sardo, Brahma ETC, dairy and all commercial cattle, Camel, Zebra, zedonks, Zorse, Wildebeest, African Antelope, Deer and Elk, mini Donkey, Mini Horses, Llama, Alpaca, Trophy Sheep & Goats, commercial Sheep and Goats

•Hoofstock Check in is on North End of building, line will form outside the 8ft fence at hoofstock sign on pole and 1-2 trailers will pull into chutes to unload.  We have to leave room for trailers to exit and enter thru the north Gate of 8ft fence. Please stay in line at sign marked Hoofstock line forms here.

In-Person Auction Consignment Guidelines

In-person auction consignments can be checked in to the barn Friday before the auction from 9am-8pm, this is best as we sell caged animals/birds in order they are check in, we also take animals on Saturday morning 7-9am but it is best to be in line between 7-8am as it gets crowded. Warm room animals need to be in the building by 9:00am. You can send picture consignments for early advertisement to Daryle on the Consignment cell phone 660-216-1492 up to Thursday night before the auction, you can still bring animals even if you have not pre-consigned, 50% of what is at our auction just shows up. 

 We have to follow USDA cage requirements that read: Each animal must have ample room to stands all the way up and turn around. (No over crowding or smashing heads or backs on top of enclosure) clean dry bedding, ventilation all the way around the cage and top, unbreakable food and water cups must be attached inside the cage. NO RED SOLO CUPS! Only chicks are allowed in cardboard boxes!!

Rabbits: in addition to above requirements, they must have solid bottoms on enclosure. 

Pet shop birds: in addition to above requirements they must have access door and handles.

Small exotic and bigger caged exotics like kangaroo, porcupine, cavies, etc have the same above requirements as well as handles and access door. These enclosure must be constructed so that no foot or hand will get caught outside the cage.  Regular hoofstock animal are unloaded into our big pens. Out of state animals may need mo state approval to enter, check with Daryle if you’re unsure.

Commission: There is a 20% commission on all caged animals, poultry and rabbit, animal supplies, Etc. It is encouraged to have coggins test done before drop off day.

15% Commission on Adult peafowl. 

10% commission on Hoofstock, Large parrots, large exotics (emu, ostrich, kangaroo, camels etc.)

Testing requirements: no requirement for in state poultry/Rabbit etc. 

Out of state poultry requires pullorum test and entry permit to enter the state. 

Most out of state animals will need health certificate to enter MO. You can contact Daryle for further info.

Online Auction March 26th-29th

Please Carefully Read the Following Online Auction Details and make sure you can accommodate & agree with these details:

Consignments will be open to receive pictures and descriptions on March 15th and will close March 21st at 9pm. All consignments MUST be in by March 21st. we must have proper time to advertise the auction especially once all consignments are in at deadline day, therefore we have to stick to these deadlines. 

NO CONSIGNMENTS WILL BE TAKEN AFTER THE DEADILINE, PLEASE REMEMBER TO HAVE ALL YOUR PICTURES AND DESCRIPTIONS IN BY THAT DATE. WE WILL NOT TAKE ANY UPDATED PICTURES OR DESCRIPTION CHANGES AFTER THE SATURDAY BEFORE AUCTION CLOSES. THE ONLY CHANGES THAT WE WILL ACCEPT ON AUCTION CLOSE SUNDAY IS RESERVE CHANGES TO LOWER RESERVES. Every time a change is made during live bidding it risks major problems to the on going auction, we have had to many issues that jeopardize the auction with so many uploads during live bidding. Saturday before the auction closes is a good day to send any extra advertising videos or pictures as we will post them to Facebook, advertising videos or pictures can be sent up to Saturday by 5pm ONLY. Sunday day of auction close has to be focused on questions from bidders as that time is flooded with us answering questions on Facebook, messanger, phone and text.

CONSIGNMENTS MUST BE IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT ONLY: Pictures, followed by a Full description (you must have age on all hoofstock or list unknown age) sex or list unknown sex. please end with the bottom dollar reserve. (Unless you feel one is not needed then please write no reserve) Then the next consignment. First time online consignors must First include Name, address, phone number and Email address for your online sellers profile for our records.  Then a couple good clean pictures of each animal (different angles encouraged) along with a detailed description of age, sex, temperament, possibly what the animals have been used for. If you are consigning the following with a stated height, miniature donkeys, Mini horse or mini Cattle, a height must be include with a picture measurement. If a picture measurement cannot be provided we will only advertise the height as approximate. If you are advertising an animal as bred it must have a vet confirmation or it will be advertised as exposed or possibly bred. We will get all your consignments posted on all of our sites and entered in the online program. You must list a reserve (bottom dollar price) on your consignments unless your confident the highest bid price will satisfy you for what the animal is worth, in that case you must say no reserve in your typed description. please include that with your pictures and descriptions other wise it will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price. 

The online Auction starts live bidding March 26th and closes March 29th starting at 7pm. Drop off of all sold animals and consignors check pick up is April 3rd from 2-6pm or April 4th from 7am-11am All animals must be dropped off by 11am April 4th at the NEMO Fair Grounds in Kirksville, Missouri. Caged animal consignors must be in drop off line by 10am.  Plan accordingly, don’t be late for drop off. Being late can cause you to forfeit your sales and participation in future online auctions. We have to stay strict on these times to allow our veterinarian ample time to do his job to satisfy our USDA licenses. Vet, USDA & MO Dept. Of AG inspection is from 11am-1pm. This is to satisfy our USDA and Missouri state license requirements. 

At this time MO Dept of Ag rule is that all animals sold through a licensed market has to come to the market to be available for inspection by our market Veterinarian.  Any questions please reach out to Daryle 660-216-1492 

Caged animals/Birds have to be in USDA approved cages/enclosure with ample room to stand up and turn about with a Food & water cup fixed inside and ventilation on all sides. Cups must be hard plastic or Metal. Clean dry bedding in all cages. All pet shop bird cages must have handles and an access door. No part of a Petshop animal or bird can be able to protrude outside the cage/enclosure. All caged animals, birds, poultry, reptiles etc. will sell with cage. RABBITS MUST HAVE A SOLID BOTTOM ON THE CAGE.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SELLING ANIMALS:

ALL EQUINE MUST HAVE COGGINS TEST IN HAND WHEN CHECKED IN. WE WILL NOT OFFER COGGINS BLOOD DRAW FOR ONLINE ANIMALS, if you don’t have a coggins you will forfeit that sale. ALL CATTLE OVER 6 MONTHS OLD THAT ARE NOT LEAD BROKE OR HANDABLE MUST HAVE HEALTH PAPERS WITH USDA TAG ON PAPERS AND IN HAND WHEN CHECKED IN, IF THEY ARE COMPLETELY LEAD BROKE OR WOULD BE EASY TO APPLY EAR TAGS THEN HEALTH PAPERS ARE NOT NEEDED. BULLS OVER 18 MONTHS OF AGE MUST HAVE A TRICH TEST IN HAND WHEN CHECKED IN. CAMELS MUST HAVE HEALTH PAPERS WITH USDA TAG ON THEM AND IN HAND AT CHECK IN. ALL OUT OF STATE POULTRY REQUIRE PULLORUM TEST WITHIN 90 DAYS OR NPIP CERTIFICATION & ENTRY PERMIT. OUT OF STATE WATERFOWL WILL REQUIRE AVAIN INFLUENZA TEST AND ENTRY PERMIT. SHEEP/GOATS CAN BE SCRAPIES TAGGED AT OUR FACILITY FOR A $3 CHARGE. You must notify us when you consign if your sheep, goat, Llama, Alpaca, pig or cattle don’t have the federally required metal tag in its ear. 

PET SHOP ANIMALS. BIRDS & REPTILES DON’T REQUIRE ANY TESTING. ALL OTHER EXOTICS ARE SUBJECT TO TESTING REQUIREMENTS BASED ON SPECIES. 

We only accept pigs 60lbs or less and must sell with a cage included. (No exceptions)

ALL ANIMALS MUST BE IN GOOD HEALTH, AND REPRESENTED CORRECTLY. POULTRY MUST BE HEALTHY AND NOT TREATED FOR ANY SICKNESS WITH IN THE LAST 30 DAYS. IF ANY ANIMAL COMES TO OUR BARN AT CHECK IN THAT IS VISIBLY SICK OR DOES NOT SHOW  AS DESCRIBED AT TIME OF CONSIGNMENT YOU WILL FORFEIT THAT SALE AND NOT PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN ONLINE AUCTIONS. 

Commission Rates & Fees:

Hoofstock,Camelids,Kangaroo,Ratites 10% No Sale $10

Caged animals/Birds 20% No Sale $5 

Peafowl, Swans, Ornamental Pheasant 15% No Sale $5

Scrapies & USDA tags $3 head

All hoofstock has $1 a head yardage/handling fee. 

We have to apply the No sale fees to every lot not sold do to the advertising time and cost of building the online auctions. 

Minimum commission per lot is $2 please remember that when consigning, more than one animal in a lot can help with that minimum. We have a monthly in-person auction that is best for single small consignments such as single Roosters, unregistered rabbits, Guinea pigs and non- purebred baby chicks. We will inform you if your consignment will be better suited for Inperson auctions to save on commission fees. 

The new owners/buyers must pick the animals up from 1 PM to 6PM March 4th. NO ANIMALS WILL BE LOADED OUT TO THE NEW BUYERS UNTIL AFTER 1PM. Consignors are more than welcome to stay to meet the buyers but you are not required.
